What is the point of Mindfulness?
This morning I got an unexpected message from my lovely friend and recent participant of my Intro to mindfulness workshop.
You absolutely made my day @Demi Moretti!
“You know what I love about mindfulness….because I’m trying not to judge my own thoughts I’m finding myself less judging of others which is such an incredible feeling. How amazing is the mindset 😜”
Has Demi lost it completely???
We are told we need to judge people in order to survive… , meaning… to spot the danger in our daily struggle for a seat on the tube, or for a first spot in traffic light competition.
So why is not judging others helpful?
Because it allows us to let go of anger,frustration, expectations of “how could they???” and replace it by kindness and curiosity of “aww bless them… how interesting…”.
We are more likely to see our fellow commuters as co-travellers through the bumpy road of life rather than angry beasts set out to beat us in the survival race.
Worth the trouble I think….
